You’re here because you’re passionate about music, especially live music. Something tells me you love the thrill of discovering new music and bands that hadn’t quite landed on your radar yet. Don’t you? Yeah, I thought so.
Discovering the Undiscovered
We have that in common, me and you, because here at R U Music, one of our biggest goals is to spotlight undiscovered artists and bands. One of the best ways to discover artists and bands is to book a party band. You hadn’t thought of that, had you?
Your options are unlimited: everything from a traditional cover band like this one, to unique bands with more eclectic, indie vibes.
Promoters and Cooperatives
Consider this: there are countless people out there who’ve made it their profession to do exactly what you’re setting out to do – discover music. Why wouldn’t you want to tap into that expertise? Local bands often rely on local promoters, whose very livelihood is built on discovering the previously undiscovered and sharing the musical treasures they find. Sometimes promoters and bands form local music cooperatives to improve their chances of gaining traction in the cutthroat industry that is professional music.
How does that affect you? Sure, there are heaps of options out there to help you discover new music. Everyone and their brother has some form of streaming service these days, which typically have some sort of discovery feature. Yeah, there’s even word of mouth. We all have that friend. You know the one: she stockpiles playlists and can recite every guitarist change the Red Hot Chili Peppers have ever gone through. And she always has the perfect song for you, one that suits you to a T.
I get bored of that pretty quickly. Sally knows that I dig Portugal. The Man, so she inevitably recommends something that sounds exactly like them. Streaming services often tailor their music recommendations to your previous likes as well. But I want to discover something brand new, something I’ll never find via the streaming service or in one of Sally’s recommendations.
Book Live Bands to Find New Music
So what’s someone like us to do, you and me? We book live bands, that’s what. Maybe you want to liven up your cousin Shmuel’s bar mitzvah with some brand new dance music that you’ve never heard before. Perhaps you’re having a backyard shindig with brews and buddies, and you’re feeling something akin to a bluesy or even a reggae vibe for the mood. Dude, book a local band. They’re hungry for the work, and you’re hungry for new music. It’s a match made in music heaven, so get out there and start discovering!
